In the last year Daniel has graduated from the remote Scarborough University with first class honours, found love, and moved to the city life of Manchester. Life is good, and the disposition of One Million reflects his new found exuberance. Out go the sombre strings and aloof vocal samples of his first offering, and in come electric guitar, punchy beats, and elevated synths as a new freedom is brought to earlier digital constraints. Here we have an insight into the album with ‘A.M. Lights’, a collaboration with troubadour Jacob Fletcher. Sublime wonky pop music, which is the sort of track that should be hitting the top 40! ‘My Feet Are Busting Out My Shoes’ steps up the tempo for the dancefloor whilst maintaining an interesting sound.

Celtec Twinz “The Goddess EP” Advanced Records
Following of from their debut release ‘We Were Kingz’ which was given massive support from Laurent Garnier, Slam and Rob Da Bank (among others) Belfast boys Celtec Twinz deliver another couple of fine tunes showing a decidedly progressive edge, but still full of Celtic flavour.Morrigan (the Irish mythological Goddess of War) is the first track the pair completed and is very close to their hearts. Coming in at nearly 7 minutes the track builds from humble beginnings to a full on rocking progressive monster. Their signature Irish drums drive the track through many peaks and the hypnotic chant of the Goddess blends the percussion with the piercing hi-hats. Mixes come from New York resident and Gotham Grooves owner Agent Orange with a straight up techno onslaught and fellow Irish prog veterans Welt with a lovely, understated gem. Fergie played the Morrigan original on his show last Saturday (26th Feb) which went down a storm.The Wicked Monk fills side two. A little faster than Morrigan and with similar hypnotic chants this track shows the lads can find a strong percussive groove and go with. Naple’s hottest export Carola Pisaturo (from Tit Bit Music) delivers a tough, minimal remix which uses just a few parts and rides with them . . . fantastic!!

Hanna Hais “Jazz Samba” Atal Music
Hanna had the idea of 'Jazz Samba' in Miami last year, she woke up in the middle of the night and recorded the melody on her answering machine. She sang the melody to Spanish DJ & Producer Danny Marquez (of 'Afrocatalans' fame-Defected), she came up with the lyrics back in Paris. 'Jazz Samba' was recorded in Barcelona. Hanna has just signed a new single to Defected, '(Je ne veux plus etre) Ta Reine', has a new track out soon with Tiger Stripes and another one with Cutee B (Africanism, Bob Sinclar's 'Love Generation...) watch this space! She will be performing 7 times at the Miami WMC.

Capoeira Twins “Whistleblower” The Payback Project
The Capoeira Twins are fresh off the heel’s of their debut album “Reinsville Heights” (released on Hope Recordings early last year) and heavy touring has given them the time to produce some more gems for you, so naturally we were all excited when they jumped on The Payback Project fun bus! ‘Whistleblower’ is without a doubt the tune of 2006 thus far, (and if anyone disagrees your bloomin bonkers). First instance we are hit with a simple but yet effective intro, which introduces all the elements, until we meet up with one monster of a bass line that high kicks things off with the Capoeira magic! ‘To The Dawn Of The Day’ saw the light of day last year on the Brazil Electro compilation, Slyde jumped at the chance to have a go on this and wow what an outstanding job they have done.

Stanton Warriors “Shake It Up” Punks
Selected from the new 'Stanton Sessions vol 2' mix compilation due in April on V2, 'Shake It Up' is a heady cocktail of rugged beats, warped old skool riffs and the biggest, baddest low-end frequencies you've heard since... well, 'Hope Time'. Something of a left-turn from the guys' patented rolling sound, 'Shake It Up' proves beyond doubt that the Stantons are just as devastatingly effective hitting you where it hurts with a speaker-busting electronic growl of a bassline. The track also heralds a welcome return for The Beatnuts on vocals, last used with devastating effect on the Stantons' seminal remix of Apollo 440's 'Dude Descending A Staircase'. Here, they get busy preaching the joys of rocking a club - namely girls, beats, drinks and more girls - through a selection of hook-laden lyrics which have been decimating dancefloors from Dublin to Dubai.

Jim Shimmer “The Escape / Space Races” 777
After a very successful debut release on 777 records last year alongside a blinding remix by trendsetters Future Funk Squad and High Eight. It reached No.10 in the Breaks and Beats Chart and received multiple plays on Annie Nightingale’s award winning radio show. Now our man from Worthing, East Sussex is back with his brand of new wave breakbeat funk. On this release Jim keeps the funk riffs pounding and the quirky electro twists a plenty. Two strong floor rockers for you to have some fun with.

Aquasky “What Can You Do? / Time Up” Passenger
The final single to be taken from Aquasky’s massive ‘Teamplayers’ album (in the shops now kids) comes in the form of this double pack featuring collaborations with drum and bass MC Spyda and breaks heads Backdraft and The Drummatic Twins and with remixes from Drumsound & Simon Bassline Smith and the godfather of breaks Rennie Pilgrem, this package will certainly see ‘Teamplayers’ go out with a bang!

Will Saul Feat Ursula Rucker “Where Is It?” Air Recordings
In keeping with Rucker’s position as one of the foremost ‘consciousness’ poets of her generation, ‘Where Is It’s’ lyrical sentiment looks far beyond the dancefloor. The result is a forward thinking commentary on the democratic process and state of play in 2006, set to a warm, atmospheric breakbeat wrapped in verdant harmonics. Evil Nine take the original firmly into the main room, with one of their first remixes for sometime (and according to the boys themselves, “one of their best ever”). This versions thumping, techie breaks sound should see it sit comfortably with DJs of many genres.

Kerowack “Met U In Miami” Kerowax
Kerowack (Saul Good & Jack Powells) released their debut single, Dirty Bumf, in 2005 on Rip Records with a Soul Mekanik remix on the flip. Dirty Bumf received a Sureplayer review in DJ Mag & appeared on Mylo's Radio 1 Essential Mix as well as Darren Emerson & Sharam Jey's Underwater Episode 04 mix CD. Kerowack's DIY style music videos for Dirty Bumf & White Dress have been viewed over a million times and they just wrapped their new video for Naf Monk, starring the UK’s Queens Of Noize. Kerowack's electromantic ballad, Met U In Miami, is being released as a limited pressing. It’s a true story of sweaty romance that took place at last year’s winter music conerence.
